Pathaan 2023

Pathaan is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films. The fourth instalment in the YRF Spy Universe, it stars Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham, alongside Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana. Written by Shridhar Raghavan and Abbas Tyrewala from a story by Anand, the film is about Pathaan, an exiled RAW agent, who must work with ISI agent Rubina to take down Jim, a former RAW agent-turned-traitor, who is planning to spread a deadly lab-generated virus across India at the behest of a Pakistani army general.

Principal photography for Pathaan began in November 2020 in Mumbai. The film was shot over various locations in India, Afghanistan, Spain, UAE, Turkey, Russia, Italy and France. Two songs were composed by the duo Vishal–Shekhar, while Sanchit Balhara and Ankit Balhara provided the score. The music video of one song, "Besharam Rang", featured Padukone in a saffron bikini, which led to protests by right-wing Hindutva groups and an attempt to boycott the film. The Central Board of Film Certification cleared the film for exhibition after certain edits were made to the song sequence, as well as some minor changes in the film. India Today reported that Pathaan was made on an estimated production budget of ₹225 crore (US$28 million) with a further ₹15 crore (US$1.9 million) spent on print and advertising. Against norm, pre-release publicity was limited with no media interactions or public events.

Pathaan was released in India on 25 January 2023, coinciding with the Republic Day weekend, in IMAX, 4DX and standard formats along with dubbed versions in Tamil and Telugu. It received positive reviews from critics and broke several box-office records, including the biggest opening day and opening weekend for a Hindi film.Further opening records were set in overseas markets.Grossing over ₹665.98 crore (US$83 million) in its extended first week, Pathaan ranks as the fifth-highest-grossing Hindi film and eighth-highest-grossing Indian film, as well as the highest-grossing of Khan's career and Yash Raj Films' releases.

Plot :-

In 2019, the Indian Government revokes Article 370, which grants special status for Jammu and Kashmir. The news impacts a cancer-ridden Pakistani army general, Qadir, who decides to exact vengeance against India. He signs a contract with Jim, who leads "Outfit X", a private terrorist organization. Meanwhile, Pathaan, a former RAW agent, and his senior officer Nandini, open a unit dubbed, "Joint Operation and Covert Research" (JOCR), recruiting agents who were forced to retire due to trauma or injury.

With RAW joint secretary, Colonel Sunil Luthra's acceptance, Pathaan and his team head to Dubai to stop Outfit X's plans of attacking the President of India at a scientific conference. However, they realise that their plan was to kidnap two scientists. Jim attacks the scientists' convoy and Pathaan tries to stop him. A fight ensues, where Jim manages to escape with one of the scientists. Luthra reveals that Jim was a former RAW agent, who was declared dead years ago, but faked his death in order to seek vengeance against his country for letting his wife and unborn child get killed at the hands of Somalian terrorists.

Meanwhile, Pathaan learns about the codeword dubbed "Raktbeej" and also that the dead people in Dubai were ex-agents and their money was transferred from the account of Rubina Mohsin, a Pakistani doctor in Spain. He travels to Spain and is captured by Jim's men, where he also learns that Rubina is an ex-ISI agent. When Jim leaves his hideout, Rubina attacks Jim's men and escapes with Pathaan. Rubina reveals that Raktbeej is in Moscow, where they travel to steal it before Jim does. However, Rubina betrays Pathaan and has him captured by the police. It is revealed that Jim used Rubina to make Pathaan steal Raktbeej for himself. Pathaan is captured and taken to prison, but is saved by Tiger.

Three years later, Pathaan travels to Africa and captures Jim's henchman, Raafe. He meets Nandini and reveals about Jim purchasing two saber missiles, while Nandini reveals Rubina's location in Paris. Pathaan meets Rubina, who reveals that the Raktbeej is a smallpox-designed mutated deadly virus, made by the scientist Jim captured. She also expresses guilt about betraying Pathaan without knowing that her country would plan such an attack. They travel to Jim's lab in Siberia and manage to recover one orb containing the virus, while Jim escapes with the other. Pathaan and his team head to a lab to prepare a vaccine for the virus.

Jim calls them and reveals that the orb has already spread the virus in the lab. The infected scientists, along with Nandini, all die in the lab by shooting themselves. Later, the lab is destroyed in a controlled blast to prevent the spread of the virus. Jim provides an ultimatum to evacuate Indian soldiers out of Kashmir within 24 hours. Pathaan interrogates Raafe about the location of the missile, and learns that the missile is situated in Afghanistan. By luring Jim's soldiers into a trap, Pathaan and his team attack Jim's base where Qadir is killed by Rubina before activating the missile, containing the virus. Pathaan chases after Jim with a jetpack, and they both crash land into a cabin.

Meanwhile, Rubina deactivates the missile, but finds that Raktbeej is not in the missile, instead in a passenger bounded airplane, which is about to land in Delhi. She informs Pathaan, who finds that Jim has the detonator. Luthra calls the air traffic control to prevent the plane from landing in Delhi. In the cabin, Pathaan and Jim fight brutally. Despite getting stabbed by Jim, Pathaan steals the detonator, deactivates Raktbeej, and then kills Jim by throwing him off the cliff. Afterwards, Pathaan is reinstated into RAW and made as the head of JOCR, while Nandini is posthumously awarded for her bravery.

In a mid-credits scene, Pathaan and Tiger are seen pondering about retiring and suggesting young agents who can replace them, but eventually decide to keep fighting the threats themselves.

Critical response :-

Cath Clarke of The Guardian called the film "Game of Thrones meets Gladiator" and gave it 3 out of 5 stars, writing "The movie ends, unsurprisingly, with a big fight between Maula and Noori – a fight in which Maula pauses to twiddle his fine moustache. Like I said, old school; still, I enjoyed every minute." Writing for The Express Tribune, Rafay Mahmood And Zeeshan Ahmad rated the film 4 out of 5 stars saying "While the film borrows nothing but the characters and bits of plot from the original, the themes it quite bravely endorses in this day and age call for a broader study of a shared sense of masculinity and rethinking of the box office prospects of South Indian cinema in Pakistan, in a better political climate of course."Eleen Bukhari of Geo News said "A lot of ups and downs, delays and legal setbacks later, TLoMJ has lived up to, if not surpassed expectations. It is an initiative never seen in Pakistan before. It is truly a labour of love."

Mahira Khan's performance was less well received. Syed Zain Raza, writing for the The Friday Times stated "One can’t deny the star power of Mahira, but it would be better to say that this wasn’t her film. Mukkho wasn’t meant for her. The contrast is even clearer when one compares her to Humaima who was flawless in this film."[48] Marsha Tayyab, sub editor of Dawn Images wrote "One thing that did put me off was Mahira Khan’s Mukkho. The supporting character to Maula was rather bland and to top it all off, Mahira’s Punjabi didn’t cut it for me. I would’ve liked to see Mehwish Hayat as Maula’s love interest instead, as Ms. Marvel gave us a glimpse of Hayat and Fawad’s sizzling chemistry." while Siham Basir, the Managing editor of Dawn Images wrote "The only downside for me was Mahira Khan’s Mukkho. Her Punjabi accent needed a lot of work and while I understand the need for star power and the casting of non-Punjabis for the film, it took years for the movie to be completed. She could have used those years to work on her accent and delivery because her performance fell flat.

K.G.F Chapter 2 2022

KGF - Chapter 2 2022

K.G.F: Chapter 2 is a 2022 Indian Kannada-language period action film written and directed by Prashanth Neel, and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner Hombale Films. It is the second instalment in a two-part series, sequel to the 2018 film K.G.F: Chapter 1. The film stars Yash, Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Srinidhi Shetty and Prakash Raj. It follows the assassin Rocky, who, after establishing himself as the kingpin of the Kolar Gold Fields, must retain his supremacy against adversaries and government officials, while also coming to terms with his past.

Produced on a budget of ₹100 crore (US$13 million), K.G.F: Chapter 2 is the most expensive Kannada film. Neel retained the technicians from its predecessor with Bhuvan Gowda handling the cinematography and Ravi Basrur scoring the music for the soundtrack and the film's background. Dutt and Tandon joined the cast in early 2019, marking the former's Kannada film debut. Portions of the film were shot back-to-back with Chapter 1. Principal photography for the rest of the sequences commenced in March 2019, but was halted in February 2020 owing to the COVID-19 lockdown in India. Filming resumed five months later and was completed in December 2020. Locations included Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mysore and Kolar.

K.G.F: Chapter 2 was theatrically released in India on 14 April 2022 in Kannada, along with dubbed versions in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam languages. It is also the first Kannada film to release in IMAX. The film received mixed reviews from critics but was generally considered an improvement over its predecessor. Neel's direction, the cinematography and performances (particularly Yash) received praise, but the pace and screenplay attracted criticism. Besides recording the second highest-opening day in India, the film set domestic opening day records in Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam, and surpassed the lifetime gross of its predecessor in two days to become the highest-grossing Kannada film. With earnings of ₹645 crore (US$85 million) globally, K.G.F: Chapter 2 is the seventh highest-grossing Indian film of all time.

The night after detailing the events in K.G.F: Chapter 1, Anand Ingalagi suffers a stroke and his son Vijayendra takes over for K.G.F: Chapter 2. Rocky kills heir apparent Virat and takes charge as the kingpin of Kolar Gold Fields (K.G.F), to the chagrin of Guru Pandian, Andrews, Rajendra Desai and Kamal. Rocky takes Reena hostage and kills Kamal. He issues orders to start work in eight reserve mines. Some central ministers, exasperated with K.G.F, plan a no-confidence motion against the DYSS-supported government to bring Ramika Sen to power. Meanwhile, Adheera, who was presumed dead, resurfaces and kills all guards at an outpost. In a ruse to bring Rocky outside K.G.F, Andrews kills Desai to lure Reena outside, and John captures Reena. Adheera shoots Rocky but does not kill him. Adheera’s men ambush Rocky's trucks and block all gold exports from K.G.F by road.

Meanwhile, Shetty ties up with other subordinates of Andrews across the Western Coast and exterminates Rocky's allies. They also join forces with Inayat Khalil. A recuperated Rocky along with Reena visits Dubai to deal in gold with Khalil, but Khalil already has a deal with Shetty. Rocky's aides kill Shetty's associates and recaptures the Western Coast, and Khalil deals with Rocky and sells him AK-47s. Rocky and his gang kill Adheera's henchmen with their newly acquired weapons when they ambush his trucks again. Adheera is wounded but Rocky spares him with a warning. Meanwhile, Rocky's henchmen threaten the ministers against the vote and the no-confidence motion fails. Rocky kills Shetty, gaining control over Bombay. Pandian warns Rocky of Sen's rising stature but he disregards him. Reena develops feelings for Rocky.

Three years later in 1981, Ramika Sen wins the Indian general elections and becomes Prime Minister. After CBI officer Kanneganti Raghavan briefs her about the situation in K.G.F, she closes all state borders and authorises him to raid Rocky's warehouses. A young Ingalagi is caught spying by Rocky's henchmen, but Rocky is impressed by his integrity. The CBI find nothing in their raids save for a 400 gram-gold bar. Rocky retrieves it from a police station and singlehandedly brings the place down with a DShK.

Rocky stops all exports from K.G.F and starts hoarding gold. Andrews requests Adheera to kill Rocky. Rocky's aides trace his biological father, a drunkard who abandoned his family, and Rocky anoints the unaware man caretaker of his mother's newly shifted grave. He also gets married to Reena. Rocky meets with Sen and hands her a file exposing his involvement in money laundering but she cannot consider it as almost all her party members were complicit in the corruption.

Adheera obtains information about a secret passage to K.G.F and informs Andrews. Adheera, Andrews, Daya, John and their gang attack K.G.F with Khalil's armada. Just as Reena announces her pregnancy to Rocky, Adheera fatally snipes her. In the ensuing clash, Rocky's army kill Andrews and Daya, while Rocky kills John and Adheera. Rocky and his henchmen disrupt Sen's resignation speech at the Parliament and kill Pandian. Pandian had staged the attack on Garuda for which Adheera was framed, and informed Adheera of Garuda's attack priorly. He was also the one who showed Adheera the secret passage, goaded Andrews into hiring Rocky, staged the no-confidence motion drama in Delhi and persuaded Shetty to join forces with Khalil just to gain Rocky's trust.

Sen issues a death warrant against Rocky and enforces the Indian Army. Rocky evacuates K.G.F and leaves on a ship with his cache of gold. He signals the Navy to his location but refuses to surrender. Sen issues orders to bomb K.G.F and his ship. Rocky is killed and drowns in the ocean along with the gold, which stays lost till date. Before leaving, Rocky had formed a new colony for all K.G.F workers. A young Ingalagi decides to write a book on Rocky. In a mid-credits scene, three months post-Rocky's death, a CIA official hands over a file listing Rocky's crimes in United States and 16 other nations between 1978-1981 to Ramika Sen. In the present day, the peon of the television news channel finds the final draft of K.G.F: Chapter 3.

K.G.F- Chapter 1 2018

Journalist Anand Ingalagi's book El-Dorado, that detailed events at the Kolar Gold Fields between 1951 and present day, has been banned by the Government of India and all published copies burnt. However, a television news channel procures a copy and interviews him circling the events.

Ingalagi narrates that ore of gold was discovered by commissioned government officials in the southern part of India's Mysore State (in present-day Kolar district, Karnataka) in 1951. Raja Krishnappa "Rocky" Bairya is also born on the day of the discovery in the Mysore region, to a poor and widowed woman.Suryavardhan, one of the workers that accompanied the officials kills the officials. Discerning the increasing demand for gold by the Cold War belligerents, Suryavardhan deceitfully sets up a company, Narachi, in that land, bought for a lease of 99 years on the pretext of mining limestone. He has five associates, all of who operate away from KGF: Kamal, the son of a former associate Bharghav; Rajendra Desai, the father of Reena, Andrews, who oversees operations in the Konkan and Malabar Coasts; Guru Pandian, a powerful politician and president of the DYSS party; and brother Adheera. However, each of them has their eyes on the mines. Andrews' underboss Shetty is a gold smuggler in Bombay, the city that also has another smuggler, Dubai-based Inayat Khalil's eyes set on.

Rocky arrives in Bombay as a ten-year-old on a quest for power and wealth as desired by his dying mother and begins to work for Shetty. He becomes Shetty's right-hand man later and oversees the arrival of gold bars from Africa to the Bombay coast with an iron fist, and soon rises in strength and power rivalling that of Shetty's. This attracts Andrews who offers him Bombay in return for assassinating Garuda, the younger son of Suryavardhan, who was seen to inherit KGF after his paralysed father's passing. Rocky accepts the offer and heads to Bangalore where an event is staged for the purpose. Once there, he witnesses the sheer presence, authority and power that Garuda commands and has the attempt averted.

In 1978, at the KGF, a bedridden Suryavardhan announces Garuda as his successor overlooking Adheera, who he wants to serve as the latter's aide. Garuda's ruthless way of functioning aided by his commander Vanaram comes to fore. Rocky soon makes his way into KGF evading a unit of henchmen. Once there, he witnesses the brutality that the slaves are subjected to. Although apathetic at first, he is moved by a couple of incidents involving a cold-blooded killing of a mother and son at the hands of an overseer and the slaves' children hoping that he rises to liberate them. Beginning his attempt at it and to indicate to Desai and his men through informants, Kulkarni and Garuda's virtuous brother Virat, that he was alive, as planned, Rocky engages in a fight with a unit of twenty-one overseers killing each one of them in order to save a blind slave they were to kill. With the act, Rocky emerges as a hero in the slaves' eyes.

An alerted Vanaram now informs Garuda who heads toward the mines from his palatial residence. To avert thousands of slaves being killed due to his fury, Virat smothers father Suryavardhan to death and sidetracks Garuda, who rushes back home. At the mines, Rocky seizes the opportunity, conspires and unsuspectingly heads through a tunnel to the site where Garuda has decided to behead three slaves as offerings to a deity. Upon Garuda's return to the site and sacrifice of two slaves, a concealed Rocky emerges and beheads him. The ecstatic slaves accept him as their leader as they cheer him on. The narrator concludes that Rocky intentionally chose KGF as the site to assassinate Garuda, in order to earn the will of an "army of people", the slaves, before he seized KGF to his control but still there are people who are waiting to acquire the throne and how Rocky will face them as one man army and why he was given a death warrant by Prime Minister Ramika Sen will be shown in Chapter 2.

Dabangg 3 (2019)

Dabangg 3 (2019)

1080p

Dabangg 3 is a 2019 Indian Hindi-language action comedy film directed by Prabhu Deva and co-produced by Salman Khan and Arbaaz Khan under their respective banners of Salman Khan Films and Arbaaz Khan Productions. The film serves as a circumquel to the 2010 film Dabangg and 2012 film Dabangg 2, and is the third installment of the Dabangg film series. The screenplay of the film is written by Salman Khan, Prabhu Deva, and Alok Upadhyaye. The story, written by Salman Khan, is set in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The film features Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha,[8]and Arbaaz Khan[9] reprising their roles from the previous film, along with Sudeep as the antagonist and Saiee Manjrekar in her Bollywood debut.

Set after the events of Dabangg 2, the film showcases Chulbul Pandey's origin as a police officer, after his encounter with an old rival named Bali Singh refreshes his memory.

Along with dubbed versions in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu languages, the film was theatrically released in India on 20 December 2019. It opened to mixed reviews from critics who praised Khan and Sudeep's performances while others found it formulaic and weaker as compared to the prequels.[13] At the box office, the film's collections were further affected by the CAA protests, making it the second lowest-grossing film in the franchise.

Starting off again with a heroic antic, the story moves ahead from Dabangg 2 with the corrupt yet much loved cop, ASP Chulbul Pandey (Salman Khan), preventing a robbery at a wedding, and beating the goons and their leader, Gullu, black and blue. Gullu then agrees to return to his former part-time job as a wedding band trumpeter, and Chulbul is seen dealing with the everyday lives of his wife Rajjo (Sonakshi Sinha), brother Makhanchand "Makkhi" Pandey (Arbaaz Khan), also a police officer, and his son, while his father Prajapati Pandey (Pramod Khanna) stays at home with Rajjo. Makkhi appears to be enjoying a lavish lifestyle most of the times. One fateful day, a despaired girl, probably injured, arrives in a hurry at Makkhi's station after escaping from somewhere, and seeks help; Makkhi, expecting to punish her captors, who tried to sell her and other girls off, is joined by Chulbul, and after a scuffle, the brothers arrest Chinti Walia (Dolly Bindra), who runs a prostitution racket.

While trying to force a confession out of Chinti at the police station, Chulbul intercepts a lawyer and some goons who have come over to have Chinti released, but he tears off the court order, and in desperation, the leader of the goons keeps his video call going on even as Chulbul smiles into the screen. Minutes later, the leader shows the video call to Bali Singh (Sudeep), who sees Chulbul, who in turns looks back into the phone camera to see Bali. Shocked beyond words, he reminisces his younger days, recalling his fate with Bali.

Years ago, when he was still young, Chulbul, whose real name turns out to be Dhaakad Chand Pandey, fell in love with a girl, Khushi (Saiee Manjrekar), who was initially being considered as a potential bride for Makkhi, after he noticed a photo of her in Makkhi's hand, and told his mother, Naini Devi (Dimple Kapadia), that he would be a good fit instead of Makkhi; a few days later, Khushi's maternal uncle Prabhat and maternal aunt Janki (Medha Manjrekar) agreed to the match between Dhaakad and Khushi, and the two began courting each other. At the same time, Bali, a ruthless and violent goon, set his eyes on Khushi and began making arrangements for his marriage with her. However, the moment he saw Dhaakad with Khushi, he decided to kill Khushi and her family right in front of Dhaakad's eyes after luring him to the spot. Prabhat and Janki were both killed, and Khushi was thrown off a cliff to die. Consequently, both Khushi's uncle Hariya (Mahesh Manjrekar) and his daughter Rajjo, revealed to be Khushi's friend, were deeply affected; Hariya took to alcoholism, while Dhaakad, who was framed by Bali and spent much time in prison for the deaths, was taken in by Commissioner Singh (Sharat Saxena) after saving him from attackers, and transformed into an uptight cop, naming himself Chulbul, in Khushi's memory, forming the events of Dabangg.

At present, Chulbul, having relayed this entire episode to Prajapati and Rajjo, decides that he has had enough, and he needs to close the chapter once and for good. Meanwhile, an ill-attracted Makkhi is misled by Bali into turning against Chulbul, nearly so as to slap him after he too is promoted to the rank of ASP. The action causes him to be banished from home by Prajapati, and he joins hands with Bali actively. Bali, who is set to become a politician and a minister in the upcoming elections, plans to bring in a truck filled with lots of money, and thus gets Makkhi and many other policemen in his circle transferred to one common location in order to facilitate the transportation. Chulbul, however, intercepts the truck and turns Bali's moles in the police force against Bali himself. As revenge, Bali gets several of Chulbul's associates kidnapped and brutally beaten to near death, until Chulbul breaks in again and frees them all, even when Bali has run awaywith Makkhi and some reliable accomplices.

Seeking to lure Bali into counterproductive action, Chulbul kidnaps Minister S. S. Sharma and his brother-in-law by staging a ploy with Gullu's help, and forces a confession out of them, which is made viral. Bali notices the same and Makkhi helps him track them down since he recognizes the hideout. Upon arriving there, Bali kills Sharma and injures his brother-in-law; in retaliation, he sends wrestlers to attack Rajjo and her son, but Chulbul arrives in time to save the two.

Some time later, Chulbul receives a call from Prajapati, who tells him that Rajjo hasn't arrived home. Sensing Bali's hand in the matter, he invades a quarry where Bali has held Rajjo, and surprisingly, Makkhi himself, as hostages - Makkhi was always on Chulbul's side and it was a game by the brothers to incense Bali; after an intense confrontation, Chulbul kills Bali.

Dabangg (2010)

Dabangg (transl. Fearless) is a 2010 Indian Hindi-language action comedy film directed by Abhinav Kashyap, and produced by Malaika Arora and Arbaaz Khan under Arbaaz Khan Productions, and Dhillin Mehta under Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd. Khan's elder brother Salman Khan stars in the lead role, with Sonakshi Sinha in her acting debut, Arbaaz, Om Puri, Dimple Kapadia, Vinod Khanna, Anupam Kher, Mahesh Manjrekar and Mahie Gill featuring in supporting roles, while Sonu Sood plays the main antagonist. The film marks the debut of Arbaaz as a producer and Kashyap as a director. Malaika Arora appears in the item number "Munni Badnaam Hui".

Dabangg is set in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, and tells the story of a fearless police officer, Chulbul Pandey, and his troubled relationship with his stepfather and half-brother. Made with a budget of ₹300 million and marketed at ₹120 million, Dabangg was shot primarily in the town of Wai in Maharashtra, while other major scenes were shot in the United Arab Emirates.

Dabangg was released during Eid-Ul-Fitr on 10 September 2010 in nearly 2100 cinemas worldwide. It opened to generally positive reviews, and went on to gross ₹2.19 billion ($47 million) worldwide. It is the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2010.Dabangg has won several awards—the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment and six Filmfare Awards, including Best Film and Best Female Debut (Sinha). Later remade in Tamil as Osthe and in Telugu as Gabbar Singh, the film was followed by two sequels: Dabangg 2 (2012) and Dabangg 3 (2019). The latter serves as a partial prequel, describing a flashback which formed the events of Dabangg itself.

Chulbul Pandey, a young boy, lives with his younger half-brother, Makkhanchand "Makkhi" Pandey, stepfather Prajapati Pandey and mother, Naina Devi in Laalgunj, Uttar Pradesh. He has a troubled relationship with Prajapati and Makkhi. After 21 years, Chulbul becomes a policeman. Chulbul, who calls himself "Robin Hood" Pandey, still lives with his family. Makkhi is in love with Nirmala, whose father Masterji opposes the relationship. Chulbul falls in love with a girl named Rajjo, whom he meets during a police chase culminating in an encounter.

A corrupt political leader named Chedi Singh meets Chulbul and both quickly become enemies. Makkhi asks Prajapati to arrange his marriage with Nirmala. Prajapati refuses because he needs money to repay the loans he took to make his factory, and he believes that he can acquire money through his son marrying a rich girl. In desperate need of money, Makkhi steals some cash from Chulbul's cupboard and gives the stolen cash to Masterji, hoping that he will permit Makkhi to marry Nirmala. Meanwhile, Chulbul meets Rajjo and proposes marriage, which she rejects, as she has to take care of her father, Hariya—a drunkard.

Chulbul comes home to find his mother, Naini Devi, dead. He goes to Prajapati to make peace, as he is the only family left. However, Prajapati refuses and despises him as an outcast. Makkhi invites Chulbul to his marriage with Nirmala. Chulbul convinces Hariya to marry Rajjo. Hariya commits suicide, as he knows that Rajjo will not marry anyone while he is alive. Chulbul takes Rajjo to Makkhi's exuberant wedding. Realising that Makkhi has stolen his money to finance the wedding, Chulbul marries Rajjo in an impromptu ceremony. Masterji feels disgraced and cancels Makkhi's wedding with Nirmala.

Makkhi beats up one of the workers in his factory due to a small mishap. The worker goes to the police station with his mother to file a complaint. Chulbul beats up Makkhi in public to disgrace him. Chedi takes advantage of the situation and takes Makkhi along with Prajapati to the police station. Prajapati resolves the situation by accepting an apology from Chulbul. Chulbul meets Dayal Sahu a.k.a. Dayal Babu, a local political leader, who also dislikes Chedi. With his help, Chulbul adulterates Chedi's breweries and wrongly frames him for it.

To take revenge, Chedi burns Makkhi's factory. Prajapati, shocked, suffers a heart attack and is hospitalised. Makkhi goes to Chedi for help, little knowing that he was the one responsible. Chedi agrees to finance Prajapati's treatment if he delivers a crate of mangoes to Dayal Babu's house. Unbeknownst to Makkhi, Chedi has placed a bomb inside the crate, which explodes after he leaves, killing Dayal Babu. Chedi gives Makkhi a task to kill Chulbul. Makkhi accepts, but ends up confessing it to Chulbul. He reveals to Chulbul that Chedi made him plant the bomb unknowingly. Chulbul forgives him and reconciles with him. During a final confrontation between Chulbul and Chedi, Makkhi reveals to Chulbul that it was Chedi, who killed Naini. Enraged, Chulbul suffocates Chedi to death. Later, Chulbul gets Makkhi married to Nirmala in the presence of her father, while Rajjo reveals that she is pregnant.

SoundTrack

The soundtrack album was composed by the music director duo Sajid-Wajid and Lalit Pandit, while the lyrics were penned by Faiz Anwar, Lalit Pandit and Jalees Sherwani. Lalit Pandit wrote the song "Munni Badnaam Hui". The album was launched on 6 August 2010 in Delhi. The album contains five original songs, four remixes and one theme song. The audio rights of Dabangg were sold for about ₹90 million (US$1.3 million) to T-Series.

The track "Munni Badnaam Hui" is said to be inspired by an old Bhojpuri folk song "Launda Badnaam Hua Naseeban Tere Liye". Director Abhinav Kashyap accepted using the folk song saying that he, being from Uttar Pradesh, was familiar with the song since childhood so he suggested the very song to be improvised and rephrased to fit the film's requirement. It was alleged that it was inspired from the Pakistani song "Ladka Badnaam Hua" from the film Mr. Charlie (1992).

Dabangg's soundtrack received generally positive reviews from music critics. Joginder Tuteja of Bollywood Hungama gave the album 3 stars and said, "[it] delivers what it promised. One expected a masala soundtrack and this is what one gets with a couple of item song sequences, a couple of theme tracks and two love songs which are actually the highlight of the film. A soundtrack that has something in store for mass as well as class."[36] Atta Khan of Planet Bollywood gave it a rating of 6 out of 10, and called the soundtrack "simple, catchy, easy on the ears and fun". In a 3-star rating, critic Devesh Sharma of Filmfare praised Sajid-Wajid's composition, and the track "Chori Kiya Re Jiya", calling it "[pleasure] to the ears".

The album performed well on the charts after its release. The tracks "Tere Mast Mast Do Nain" and "Munni Badnaam" were successful, and entered the list of top 20 most frequently played songs on radio in India.[39] In August 2010, the track "Tere Mast Mast Do Nain" reached number-one on the Official Asian Download Chart in the United Kingdom based on legal downloads in that country.
